The REAL Wonder Woman on Sarah Palin: “America Should Be Very Afraid”
In an interview this morning about her three-week run at an Atlantic City casino, I offhandedly asked “Wonder Woman” Lynda Carter how she felt about the media calling VP candidate Sarah Palin the “new Wonder Woman.” I wasn’t expecting her no-holds-barred response:
Don’t get me started. She’s the anti-Wonder Woman. She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness … that’s just not what Wonder Woman is about. Hillary Clinton is a lot more like Wonder Woman than Mrs. Palin. She did it all, didn’t she?
No one has the right to dictate, particularly in this country, to force your own personal views upon the populace — religious views. I think that is suppressive, oppressive, and anti-American. We are the loyal opposition. That’s the whole point of this country: freedom of speech, personal rights, personal freedom. Nor would Wonder Woman be the person to tell people how to live their lives. Worry about your own life! Worry about your own family! Don’t be telling me what I want to do with mine.
I like John McCain. But this woman — it’s anathema to me what she stands for. I think America should be very afraid. Very afraid. Separation of church and state is the one thing the creators of the Constitution did agree on — that it wasn’t to be a religious government. People should feel free to speak their minds about religion but not dictate it or put it into law.
What I don’t understand, honestly, is how anyone can even begin to say they know the mind of God. Who do they think they are? I think that’s ridiculous. I know what God is in my life. Now I am sure that she’s not all just that. But it’s enough to me. It’s enough for me to have a visceral reaction. And it makes me mad.
People need to speak up. Doesn’t mean that I’m godless. Doesn’t mean that I am a murderer. What I hate is this demonization of everybody but one position. You’re un-American because you’re against the war. It’s such bullshit. Fear. It’s really such a finite way of thinking about God to think that your measley little mind can know the mind of God. It’s a very little God that way. I think that God’s bigger. I don’t presume to know his mind. Or her mind.
What’s What With … Lynda Carter [Philadelphia magazine]

September 11th, 2008 at 11:51 am
Sadly Lynda, who was never more than a B rate actress, is now a jealous, bitter old woman whose 15 minutes in the spotlight were so long ago few remember!
September 11th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
So let me get this straight. A 1970’s has been actress who only got her part because of T&A, who has only played a staring role in a made for TV comic book adaptation, is relevant to the political discourse some 30+ years later … how? And who cares?
September 11th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
Palin Is An Unknown
Unless she opens up to the press and public I do not see how we can consider someone that we know less about then the bag boy at our local grocery store? This is a situation that could place her in the position as commander in chief of the United States Of America. During the primaries the media kept asking if America was ready for a woman president. Well after raking Hillary over the coals for months and months the answer was by the millions yes. Like all the candidates she ran the gauntlet, faced the public and the press and by the end of the primaries we knew most everything about all of them.
We know very little about Sarah Palin.
How can this even be considered!
Charley Gibson has been Granted an interview with strict guidelines… A Barbra Walters like interview. It has been said that he must first submit his questions to the McCain / Palin camp before he asks them.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
As an American citizen, Lynda Carter has the right to free speech. She speaks for me in this case. I’m very glad she used her celebrity to put this out. I have no celebrity, so I can say these things until I’m blue in the face an no one will hear me.
You go, Lynda! You have laid out many excellent points in a very intelligent manner, and I applaud you!
Palin is more like GW Bush than McCain so clearly appears to be. Voting lock step with the Bush administration 90% of the time IS NOT CHANGE! It’s more of the same. Our country cannot survive four more years of GW Bush’s failed policies, and that is what we will get if McCain becomes President of the United States.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Who cares…you could ask any liberal entertainer and they would spew the same diatribe.
September 11th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
She’s NOT a B-Rate actress or a has been…Lynda Carter is a goddess and she’s right-on in her response…stupid right wing assholes….Sarah Palin is a daemon they’ve employed in a desperate effort to get females to vote for McCain…..Gods help us all!!…
September 11th, 2008 at 1:03 pm
It’s funny that all the Obamites are so worried about placing someone who isn’t qualified as the VP but have no problem and see no contradiction in proposing that the BoyBlunder become the President. Brilliant.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Uh, she’s not the “REAL” Wonder Woman. She just played one on TV, a long time ago.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
I’ll bet the “real” Wonder woman never saved a Baby. Did allow herself to be photographed/filmed topless. Didn’t return thousands of dollars to alaskans in oil royalties. Did fail in at least one marriage. Did not support a loved one who decided to keep her child; Did not ever give any of her time to help with special needs children; Did support a philandering president who abused scores of women. Didn’t give much of her own money to h elp others; Did support higher taxes on plebian Americans. Just guessing. Who’s the judgmental, intolerent one?
September 11th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
You want to see brillian? Just look at who all the haters and name callers are commenting on this story. America, beware of those who want you to shut up! Beware! Beware of those who will try to paint you as stupid or insignificant in order to attempt to make it appear your thoughts mean nothing. Don’t give up free speech!
September 11th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
Sounds like she has the old Truth Dectector belt twisted in a bunch. Maybe she needs another spiritual trip to Father Martin’s.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:21 pm
A lot of people want to stifle dissent when someone says what they don’t want to hear. No wonder Republicans keep doing so well. Apparently too many Americans are taking their freedoms for granted and want a change from having the right to free speech. Put McCain/Failin in the White House and you’ll be quite a bit closer to reaching that goal.
It’s scary that Republicans can dangle a shiny toy in front of America every election season and so many people STILL fall for it after jobs have gone offshore and mortgages are being foreclosed at higher rates than ever. Vote Republican and keep kissing your jobs and mortgages goodbye.
If you keep asking to be stepped on, you WILL be. The people doing the stepping have got theirs. They could give a damn about YOU except that you’re the puppet who marks the ballot for them.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
“Beware of those who will try to paint you as stupid or insignificant in order to attempt to make it appear your thoughts mean nothing. ”
Isn’t that what YOU’RE trying to do here, JL?
Lesse, Carter won a beauty contest and then acted in a hokey T&A comic book TV show 30 years ago.
So now it’s OK that her own petty opinions on a particular matter should be National News fed to the rest of us?
OK, then. You should be forced to watch the rest of us scamper around in skimpy, flag-colored costumes for a few hours (with extra time given for Michael Moore’s effort). And don’t paint us as stupid or insignificant.
Then we’ll call it even.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:34 pm
Pssst! Here is a tip. Lynda Carter was only ACTING like she was Wonder Woman. She’s not teh “real” Wonder Woman. You know, kind of like little kids dress up and pretend they are super heroes.
September 11th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
I agree with JuniperLea:
Beware of those trying to shut up Sarah Palin. And beware of those who are trying to shyut her up or make her appear stupid.
And don’t allow the Lefties who support free speech for themselves but no one else to steal your civil rights
This is America. You National Socilaists who would have free speech only for those who parrot your ideas, you need to wake up and engage in productive dialogue.
They tried to shut Reagan up also. But they all showed up at his funeral to get their 10 minutes of fame.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
To Terry McGuire… No one is trying to shut Palin up… we’re all still waiting to hear her say something that was not written by GW Bush’s speech writer.
At no time in our country’s history have we had to wait so long to hear from a candidate for VP. What are they trying to hide?
Let her speak! We want to hear her speak!
September 11th, 2008 at 2:10 pm
“She’s judgmental and dictatorial, telling people how they’ve got to live their lives. And a superior religious self-righteousness …”
What an odd comment! Who has Gov. Palin judged? To whom has she dictated? Did she say her religion is superior to anyone else’s religion? Ms. Carter seems to be reading too many blogs and forgetting to verify what she reads.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Terry… do you have links/proof of your lies… erm… insult… erm… accusations?
You should step away from the Kool Aid… you are showing signs of poisonous levels… you are spewing lies. You need to offer some proof of what you say.
Obama has talked to a lot of media people, off the cuff. You don’t know what you are talking about.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Wow. I had no idea Lynda Carter was such a bigot. Sad.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:31 pm
Fascism is going to do very well in the United States. We might as well just get it over with already.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
And I could say that we are waiting to hear Obama say something that was not written by the Old Boys’ Club speech Writers of Dukakis, Kerry, Clinton, and McGovern–if not Josef Stalin and Karl Marx.
Don’t you (Obama) dare talk about change and then parade the old failures who hate America but love our money. Dukakis and Kerry are the antitheses of change.
Let the News Media investigate the Corrupt Chicago South Side ties of Barrack. Let them investigate his ties to Fflon Tony Rezko and his shady house deal. Let them investigate Barrack’s racism–unequivocally demonstrated by his staying in a racist church for 20 years. Let them investigate Michele’s ties to a hospital which will not care for indigent citizens but takes insurance cases only. Let them investigate Obama’s pork barrel grants to this same hospital. Let them investigate his ties to his uncle who has led mobs in the harassment and murder of Christians by Moslems in Kenya. Let them examine his ties to his former music director at Trinity. What of his bizarre relationship with William Ayers and the Annenberg project. What about the persisent rumors of Obama’s bisexuality. the Media have gone after Sarah Palin without respite. On the ABC homepage on one day this week, I counted 8 anti McCain/Palin links and 1 neutral piece on Obama. MSNBC is just as bad. I at least am thankful that you are not trying to stifle the free speech of Conservatives. Many liberals are. And the MSM are solidly part of Obama’s propaganda machine. They are the Josef Goebbels of the Democrat Party.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
They can all say what they want…they’re just mad because we’re gonna win!!! McCain & Palin are both for COUNTRY! Palin Power!!!!!!!!!
September 11th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Chosen,
Obama gets fairer treatment on FOX than any of the Conservative candidates get on any other network.
He’s got the rest of the MSM in his pocket.
Fox is not going after Obama or the poster child for plagiarism, Joe Biden, the way CBS, NBC, CBC, and ABC are going after Palin. Not to mention MSN and MSNBC.
September 11th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
WHO IS GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN?
1. She is involved in an abuse of power investigation.
2. She lied about the Bridge to Nowhere.
3. She lied about Senator Obama at the RNC.
4. She led people to believe, including McCain, she sold her plane on Ebay.
5. She insulted Hillary Clinton by calling her a wimp.
6. She wanted to ban books.
7. She is against women rights.
8. She belongs to a loony church.
9. She is George Bush with lipstick.
10. She knows nothing about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac-View Palin Tape@ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/09/08/palin-makes-her-first-gaf_n_124792.html

September 11th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Yeah, don’t forget Michell’s “reported” racial remarks, also. And I’m sure you were just as deeply concerned about Hillary and Bill’s racial, ethnic and sexist remarks that have also been reported too, (from MUCH more reliable sources).
GET REAL, Wanker !!!!!!!
September 11th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
To Chosen,
What do you think of Obama’s comment that “if he had a magic button that he could push and exterminate every white person on the planet, he’d push it without hesitation”? See, anyone can make up lies and put words in the mouth of their opponents.

September 11th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
why are comments being deleted?
September 11th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Chosen,
The Medai used to be concerned with reporting truth not their political biases.
You having heard of none of them illustrates my point that the MSM are not giving Obama the same anal exam they are giving Palin.
Start with Google or another search engine. Most of the things I have mentioned are well known and are available on news sites which are more concerned with the truth than assailing a woman because she presents a threat to Obama.
I don’t think Obama would beat up a woman. But I don’t think he is comfortable with strong women.

She would gladly go on any of the MSM that would treat a Pub as fairly as they treat a Dem.
Why does she want to go on a Liberal MSM interview to be condescended to and then vivisected afterward?
Her only hope is to take her message to the American people direct. This is also what Reagan had to do.
Even Leno and Letterman are piling on.
Used to be even the Dems had a sense of fair play.

Whoa - everyone is so angry - on BOTH sides. It seems to me that Lynda Carter had some nice things to say about McCain, if you actually read the article. Hearing what you want to hear, reading what you want to read, and not looking at both sides of the coin - way to go people! Learn how to learn, and stop listening to sound bytes on Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. Sound bytes mean nothing except whatever mood the producer wanted to create at that time. Regarding Sarah Palin, it would be nice to hear her do a DIFFERENT speech for once. I look forward to any debate between her and Joe Biden.

September 11th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
To those who are blasting Lynda Carter: have you checked into Palin’s philosophy on separation of church and state? I’ve seen videos of speeches in which Palin strongly suggested the war in Iraq is a holy war, and Palin told the audience that a pipeline project was God’s plan and asked them to pray for it. A politician who presents specific ideas or plans as God’s will or God’s plan is going to be extremely divisive and dangerous to America. If McCain should win, I pray he stays healthy.
September 11th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
Paula,
Excitement about the VP debate. That could be a first in U.S. history. The VP debate could well decide the Presidency which would definitely be a first in U.S. history.
September 11th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
What’s up with people saying others are trying to shut Palin up? Who is doing that? If anything, people are trying to get Palin to speak and say something that isn’t vague, meaningless claptrap meant to appeal to an already existing base. Also, doesn’t anyone else think it’s sad that the McCain/Palin campaign has become more about Palin than McCain?

September 11th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Chose,
Republicans, not Dems, wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, Republicans, not Democrats spear-headed the Civil Rights legislation. The only former KKK member in the Senate is a Democrat.
Republicans have no problem with the sex or color of a candidtate.
We do have problems with a world-view of 1) Baby-killing, 2) blame America 1st, denying Americans energy to drive their cars and build their industry so that we can feed our families. we do have problems with Liberal nannyism that says we can’t eat as much food as we wand and drive our SUV’s (which I have seen Video of Obama getting out of), and keep our thermostats at 72 degrees which I know he does if he wants. We have problems with a man that says he wants to eliminate nuclear weapons in a dangerous world. And we have problems with a man that has so many terrorist supporters. I don’t want Obama, or Hillary, or Dukakis, or Feinstein in the whitehouse. But don’t make it racial. Hey did you read the good article that MLK’s niece wrote a month ago—About the fact that Martin Luther King Sr. and JR. were Republicans?

Go Linda Carter!!! My thoughts exactly on separation of church and state. Religious freedom is think of G-d how you want, pray how you want and choose to speak about it being mindful that everyone has a right to their opinions on that matter. NO ONE is wrong. If there is one reason I dislike organized religion it is because it separates us. If we believe in, Do unto others, then we should all keep our negative and self rightous thoughts about who belives the best way to ourselves!!! Remember it’s Do unto others, not Do them in!!!
September 11th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
This Palin woman could very likely turn out to be our 45th President. It is in everyone’s best interest that she is examined closely and that she sit down with the press and answer questions about her policy stances and general outlook on the country and the issues facing all Americans.
The idea that a candidate for the office that is a heartbeat away from the highest office in the land is some sacred cow who is above criticism and beyond reproach is not only bizarre and unprecedented in American politics, it’s down right dangerous.
September 11th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
You are so right, Paul! We need to hear her speak without a teleprompter… and the best place I can think of is at a debate. Why are there no debates scheduled as yet? There are less than 60 days left before the election, and there has not been a debate yet!
It is in all our best interest to hear her. I’m NOT trying to shut her up, as has been said here. I WANT to hear her… I want EVERYONE to hear her.
Cheerleaders are for sporting events… how can anyone cheer this candidate on based on one teleprompter speech that is being repeated over and over? She has yet to deviate from that speech in any appearances since. We need to hear from the real Sarah before anyone makes up their minds.

Terry… you are answering to a question about oranges with answers about apples: “I have already replied that Obama also has speech writers. The are the speech writers of Democrat has-beens: Kerry, Dukakis, Clinton, McGovern.”
I’m talking about TALKING to people, and to the press, without benefit of a teleprompter. Obama has done it, Biden has done it, and even McCain has done it? Why hasn’t Palin? Why is she still spewing the orginal speech in bits and pieces? Why hasn’t she been answering questions from the press?
September 11th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Wow. I’m amazed at all the small-minded bigots posting replies to this article. People who, if given the chance, would most likely strip all women of their right to vote, negating the Palin issue entirely. A bunch of self-entitled white men trying desperately to hold on to the last vestiges of thinking long dead. Or, even worse, white women completely owned by their husbands, incapable of forming their own opinions. So, so sad.
Lynda Carter is more educated on the political state of this country than 90% of the people posting here. Her statements were fact-based, reacting only to what Palin herself has put out for the public to see.
This country (and much of this reply list) is full of scared, jealous, complacent little lambs who would rather hide behind antiquated racist, sexist, fear-mongering theology than think for themselves.
So sad that we share the same country. So sad that some people want to return to the dark ages. Thank goodness leadership will finally return to the hands of the party willing to move this country ahead, though.
Brighter days are coming.
September 11th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
Lynda’s statements most certainly were not based in fact, Jon.

All right, Lynda! I’m seeing wisdom from her, and lots of the usual insults and wank from the right. Separation of church and state, people. Keep your religion to yourself and stop trying to force it on me.
Visit factcheck.org like the post above mentioned. You’ll see all of Palin and McCain’s lies and distortions of the truth, too. Obama’s campaign hasn’t been perfect, but it hasn’t had nearly the deception of the Republican party. And when confronted by the deception, McCain hides being being a POW (that’s why he has so many houses!), and Palin tries to claim you’re being sexist. Whatever!

JustABill… you should provide a link to what you are talking about… the only things I’ve seen on factcheck.org support what these people you have named are saying.
September 11th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Go Lynda! I couldn’t agree with her more. And her points about knowing the mind of God is something that my 90 year old very Catholic grandmother — who refers to herself as the Loyal Opposition in regards to her a lot of her views vs The Church as a Whole has always said. Anyone who presumes to know better about God and wants to force that opinion on everyone always did get her hackles raised. And it’s awesome to see Lynda agrees.
Go Lynda. What happens in your private family life is only our own businessed, separation of Church and State should be paramount.
September 11th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
I am starting to pity you poor libs.
September 11th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
KansasGirl:
Not as much as we pity you…or JustABill or any of the other hyper-conservatives here.
Educate yourself. Knowledge is power.
September 11th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
It’s always nice when someone speaks truth to power- especially when that someone is Wonder Woman! You’d have to be raving mad to support his radical extremist for VP. It’s a shame that a moderate like John MCcain has sio capitulated to the nutty fringe of his party. I just wonder what’s to become of the Republican Party? It seems to be increasingly taken over by the lunatic right-wing, to an extent that can only bode ill for the party and for America. It’s heartbreaking that someone who stands up for separation of church and state gets called a “bigot” by people who clearly have no love for America or her ideals. The far right has always hated america and everything she represents. Thank God there’s Wonder Woman to save the day, and kick “Hardly Human” Palin to the curb!!
September 11th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
As for the comments from the far-rightests here (Terry and Tom in particular)…you might want to listen to something other than Oxycontin Limbaugh for a change. Right-wingers hate this country- truly hate it. You seem to detest every liberty, every freedom to choose, every bit of social progress made in the last two centuries, and everything enshrined in the Constitution. You’d turn our Democracy into some theocratic fascist state where only your views would be permitted, and all others would be legislated into criminality. You hate everything that’s tolerant and free about this country- that’s clear. You’d toss the Constitution onto a flaming pyre, and run this country with a bible in one hand and a weapon in the other. You have no respect for freedom or progress. You’d turn this country back to the Dark Ages. i pray the republican Party has the good sense to relegate you back to the bitter angry fringes from whence you came.

“In her satin tights..Fighting for our rights..and the old red, white, & bluuuuuuue!!”
YOU GO, LYNDA!!!!
September 12th, 2008 at 7:18 am
I think the salient point that everyone is missing is whether or not Gov. Sarah Palin should be compared to Wonder Woman. I’ll be brief, because I know most of you won’t care, but as a fan and artist I’ve followed the fictitious adventures of Wonder Woman for over 30 years and have read back issues and reprints of the comics that date back to Wonder Woman’s creation in the 1940’s by William Moulton Marsten, who also created the systolic blood pressure test–one of the inventions that directly led to the invention of the polygraph. Marsten was a noted feminist and lived in a polyamorous relationship with two women, both of whom he modeled Wonder Woman’s ideology and appearance after. In the comics and in the shows Wonder Woman’s philosophy is far too liberal for there to be any justification for a comparison between Wonder Woman and Gov. Sarah Palin. In point of fact Wonder Woman is a pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, environmentally conscious, pagan who believes we have a sacred duty to protect and nurture all living creatures, while striving constantly to find non-violent solutions to our problems. I think if Wonder Woman were real both Gov. Sarah Palin and Wonder Woman herself would be insulted by the comparison. More to the point Lynda Carter, even thirty years later still has a very firm grasp on her character.
September 12th, 2008 at 10:28 am
“I am starting to pity you poor libs.”
I am starting to pity this entire country, for the ignorant, partisan lemmings who will give us this unqualified, unprepared, ill-informed person as our 45th President, after 72 year-old, 4 time cancer patient John McCain inevitably dies in office. There are dark days ahead for democracy and freedom if we elect four more years of Republican mis-rule.
September 12th, 2008 at 10:58 am
Ms. Carter is a class act. Super Palin is an opportunstic hypocrite.
September 12th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
Lynda Carter is not using her celebrity for a cause. Lynda was touting her 3-week show and was asked. I never realized how smart, well spoken, and thoughtful she is and I applaud her for stating her opinions when she was asked for them. I agree with her as well. Bitter? Doesn’t sound like it — she is not a young person and is doing a nightclub act and has a solid marriage and children and much to be proud of in her life, including knowledge of what’s actually in the constitution. Granny Palin — PLEASE NOTE! Freedom of religion is in the Bill of Rights!!
September 12th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
excuse me, as a foreigner, let me ask Lynda Carter and those on this forum defending her?
Just when has Palin attempted to `dictate’ to anyone?
Just when has she `told people how to live their lives’?
When has she come out in favour of censorship and not for personal freedom?
I think these Dummycrats of yours need to get a grip.
September 12th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
We DO have the right to be scared of Sarah Palin. She is condecsending, and lacks the respect for people that have the ability to think on their own and make their own decisions. She won’t get too far with that attitude.
She mocked Obama’s community service. I have volunteered for years in community service. I am insulted.
She made fun of us lowlanders calling snowmobiles - snowmobiles. I assume Alaskans call them snowmachines. According to Webster’s Dictionary, snowmobile is the correct word.
It was not cute that she put that jet on eBay. Why didn’t she donate it to an organ transplant organization or search and rescue group??? Not cute at all, Palin.
How come she can’t be on her own? After all, did we give Senator Clinton, Governor Whitman, Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, or Geraldine Ferraro a blanket of protection?? Grow up, Palin.
I was a supporter of McCain until he chose Palin. How dumb does he think we are? Also, I find it reprehensible the way he treated his first wife. So did the Reagans and Edwin Meese.
Go home Palin. I’ve got a new flash for ya - you’re not fooling anyone.
September 12th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
I’m impressed that Lynda Carter feels this way, she is after all a Republican herself.
Good to know she can see the wolf in sheep’s clothing.
September 12th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
*She is condecsending, and lacks the respect for people that have the ability to think on their own and make their own decisions. She won’t get too far with that attitude.*
I think that describes the reaction of the Dumycrats / left-wing media with regard to the announcement of Palin’s candidacy.
*She mocked Obama’s community service. I have volunteered for years in community service. I am insulted.*
As I recall, she mocked nobama’s early career as a community *organizer* - after the Princess mocked her first for her experience as a mayor of a town of 9,000 people; she is, of course, the governor of a much larger state. and unlike “Barry”, she actually RUNS her state, while Nobama hands over his campaign to a `professional.’
September 12th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
I love Lynda Carter, and am seeing her perform tonite!! So, to all you nay-sayers, SUCK IT! SUCK IT HARD!!
September 12th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Linda Carter obviously has bought the media distortions of Sarah Palin’s religious beliefs hook, line, and sinker. I think if she took a better look at what Palin has really said, she might have a different impression.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
I don’t see why Linda Carter shouldn’t speak out if the media is calling Palin “Wonder Woman”.
And I agree with everything she says.
September 12th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Whig - your remarks are really parochial. I am a registered Republican of many, many years. Also a lifelong member of the NRA.
You will not convince me that Palin is a good choice. When I vote for Obama, it is in reality a vote against McCain/Palin. I have to do it. She simply IS NOT QUALIFIED and even her local papers in Anchorage accuse her of stretching the truth.
Calling me a Dummycrat does not help your argument.
How come you didn’t comment on my remarks about the jet?
How come you did not comment on McCain’s first wife issue?
It seems when we get down to the nitty gritty, you gloss over the dirt and start name calling. Silly you!!
September 12th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
Now we have Pam Anderson, Lynda Carter, Matt Damon, Susan Sanandon. and Alec Baldwin all defenders of truth, justice and the american way.
Im waiting for the real experts to get involved like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Britanny Spears. and Hulk Hogan to jump on the Obama bandwagon then we will know that America is saved.
September 12th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Margie, I didn’t call you a Dummycrat.
I didn’t see the remarks you made about Mccain’s first wife; where are they?
The jet? I don’t know what you’re referring to.
I’ll take it at your word that you’re a Rep and a member of the NRA - that’s all very well.
How do you think the values you may hold - like the right to keep and bear arms - will fare under a Obama / Biden regime? - An Obama government that may well have control of both houses of Congress, too.
LIke I said, I’m a foreigner; it’s no skin off my nose if Nobama takes control of your government.
It appears that in my country (Canada), the right party will be re-elected to power next month.
I think you should think very deeply about voting against McCain by voting for this prima donna Nobama.
But you’re free to ignore my advice.
September 12th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
Whig - you may be reading only what you really want to ’see’. My remarks about the jet and McCain’s first wife were in the same posting as those items you CHOSE to see, or not to see.
To be fully informed about the first Mrs. McCain, type ‘Carol McCain wikipedia’ into your browser.
To be fully informed about the Reagan’s view on this matter, type The Reagans and Carol McCain into your browser. (Nancy Reagan endorsed McCain, but she is not happy about it, but McCain is the candidate of the party. That is her and Ronnie’s policy).
Then you can type Edwin Meese and Carol McCain into your browser to find the info on who gave her a safe place to live after she was dumped.
Truth is, McCain is reportedly a lounge lizard with the ladies. Always has been. He even admits it himself in his book. I will not stand behind any public servant of mine that behaves like this, Republican or Democrat.
As for that Governor’s jet - I still say she should have donated it to an organization that could really use it. She put it on eBay, (Lookie what I can do!), but it did not sell. It was sold, at a loss, through a dealer.
As for, “I told them thanks, but no thanks”, well it appears that is a falsehood. Congress shot that bridge down one year before Palin was sworn in as Governor. Anchorage newspapers say, “She stretches the truth”.
When Charles Gibson asked her the pointed questions last night, one of her answers was, “You can see Russia from Alaska”. ?????
If McCain was 50 years old, I would say that Palin can do some on the job training. There is time. If she were to have to assume office now, we would be in serious trouble.
I was insulted when McCain chose Palin. Palin should have been insulted as well. I would like to get promotions and opportunities according to my abilities, not the fact that I am a woman.
I am not afraid of my gun ownership being affected by an Obama win. I am in a very rural area, and they would need to find me first before they could remove my firearms.
I remain - an Obama supporter.
September 12th, 2008 at 10:07 pm
I’m religious, and also a conservative who thinks that Lynda Carter is exactly correct. Government has no place getting involved in religion.
I don’t trust McCain. I don’t trust his judgment in picking this woman Palin. There were plenty of other qualified women to choose from. Condi Rice would have been an interesting choice, or Kay Bailey Hutchinson.
I haven’t decided yet between Barr or writing in Ron Paul; but both of them understand the importance of keeping religion out of government. I won’t be voting for McCain. This choice of a running mate he made makes a mockery of the office.
I’m new to posting on the internet, and find one other thing about these internet posters, some are really childish. I’m amazed at the ridiculous comments attacking Carter for simply stating her position.
September 12th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
It’s been posted that Lynda’s just a T&A actress..Well, do you honestly think it was Palin’s brain that got her this nomination?? Please. Palin’s kinda hot. I’ll give you that. But when she spins around, she doesn’t turn into anything spectacular..just the same old same old. Palin does have an invisible plane though. Doesn’t she?
September 12th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
Have you been listening to the news? It is being reported by almost every newspaper that McCain is lying in his TV ads about Obama. I believe, the media, whom McCain calls his base, is being made to look stupid because they are not covering McCain/Palin truthfully. Although there are tons of footage of McCain lying and a written record of Governor Palin, they continue to lie, and the media has been afraid to say anything. Not anymore.
I heard Richard Wolfe say yesterday, the media was complicit is getting us into the Iraq war because, they were afraid to challenge the Bush administration. So, those of you that have been following the story of the media being bias toward McCain/Palin, let me respectfully ask that you do your own home work. You may be surprise at what you find.
Anyway, even Governor Palin said you shouldn’t complain about sexism, it’s not good for women’s issues. If we want to play with the big boys, we cannot act like little girls. It does not help our cause.
September 12th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
I had to stop reading so sorry if it’s been said already… Americans should research the issues on their own rather than believing what they see on tv or hear on the radio… for those talking about the liberal celebrities.. Lynda Carter is evangelical Christian. If the Christians were more like her, this country wouldn’t be so divided. It’s kind of interesting that this country was founded in part by those seeking freedom of reli
