One in six men will develop prostate cancer in their lifetime. This makes a man 35% more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer than a woman is to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Approximately 192,000 new cases are diagnosed annually, and 27,000 men die from the disease each year. It is the most common non-skin cancer in the United States, as there are believed to be two million men suffering from prostate cancer throughout the nation.
