Approximately 20,000 new cases of ovarian cancer are diagnosed each year in the U.S., and the disease takes the lives of nearly 15,000 women annually. Many of the symptoms are subtle and can be easily be confused with other medical conditions, but early detection is vital — nine out of 10 women survive if the cancer is diagnosed early.
