It is estimated that 85 to 90 percent of adolescents suffer from acne and approximately 80 percent of people ages 11 to 30 will experience acne outbreaks at some point in their lives. Though acne occurs most often during adolescence, it can affect men and women alike all the way to age 50, and women may experience flare-ups during their menstrual cycle and pregnancy.
