SuperDope is on Saturday, August 20th, at Tabu.

For its eclectic taste in diverse music genres and its ambition in turning such passion into one big Gayborhood showstopper, SuperDope House Party is this week’s LGBTQ Event of the Week. “I am so excited to bring SuperDope House Party back into the scene,” said event producer Stro Kyle. “This event represents everything I stand for — being all-inclusive, judgement-free, celebrating of queer rebel lives, and bringing to the forefront those who feel left in the shadow of mainstream Philly LGBTQ culture.”

The event, which takes place this Saturday night at Tabu, plans to encompass the entire two floors of the venue. There will be local LGBTQ vendors on the first floor and a massive dance party on the second. Trans activist and author Samantha Jo Dato will be in the building to sign her latest work, Shattered Perfect. Dato, along with the Black and Brown Workers Collective and G Philly, will be recognized for “outstanding contribution for providing a voice for queer people of color.” “I am very excited and honored to have this smack middle in the Gayborhood,” Stro added. “I am looking forward to seeing our amazing community come together and celebrate each others individuality.”

Stro’s cousin DJ Reezey and Icon Ebony Fierce will also be hosting the event. “It’s a family reunion of QPOC and ‘woke’ allies in the city,” Fierce said. “We’re not only going to give you what the Gayborhood needs, but what the QPOC need in the area itself.”

The event takes place Saturday, August 20th, at 9 p.m. at Tabu, 200 South 12th Street. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online.
