Social media sounds off on the denial of Kathryn Knott’s request for a reduced sentence.

On Monday, Court of Common Pleas judge Roxanne Covington denied a request by Kathryn Knott for a reduced sentence in her conviction for a 2014 Center City attack of two gay men. Knott will continue to serve her five- to ten-month sentence. Twitter users couldn’t help but give their frank thoughts on this matter.

After slaying the competition on the hit television show, Philly favorite Mimi Imfurst plans to debut a solo album, The Fire, at Center City’s Hard Rock Live Cafe next Monday. The official release date is March 22nd, but Philly fans have an exclusive opportunity to view the accompanying music video and buy the album a day before its worldwide distribution.

DVLF reveals its 2016 HEROES honorees.

Philly LGBTQ advocacy organization DVLF will honor Mayor Jim Kenney and many more at this year’s HEROES event. Kenney will be awarded the Straight Ally HERO Award for his political equality work in office. Equality Forum executive director Malcolm Lazin is receiving the Lifetime Legacy Award for his countless years of helping shape the city’s progress in LGBTQ rights. Trans activist and GAILEI Trans-Health Project councilor Deja Lynn Alvarez will receive the Adult HERO Award for her trans advocacy and commitment to being the director of Divine Light LGBTQ Shelter and Recovery Home. Ibrahmin Vicks of The Attic Youth Center will also be receiving the Youth HERO Award. “I was deeply honored to hear that I was nominated and chosen to receive this award,” Vicks says. “Being named the DVLF’s 2016 Youth Hero means that not only is my work noticed, but it is also appreciated.” Also being honored: LGBTQ chamber of commerce Independence Business Alliance will receive the Nonprofit Organization HERO Award, and Table 95 Hospitality, parent company of Gayborhood favorite Pennsylvania 6, will be given the Business HERO Award. The celebration is scheduled for April 17th at Hotel Monaco.
