James Obergefell, the Supreme Court marriage equality plaintiff, has had a busy few days. Besides the landmark victory with the Court in his favor, he’ll be here in Philadelphia this afternoon for a wreath laying ceremony at the Gay Pioneers Historical Marker at 6th and Chestnut Streets.

Also on hand will be Samantha Giusti, Executive Director of the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund, Malcolm Lazin, chair of the LGBT 50th Anniversary Celebration, and a host of other LGBT leaders from the region.

The ceremony begins at 2:15 pm at the NW corner of 6th and Chestnut, with Independence Hall in the background, and is scheduled to last approximately 30 minutes.
