Anti-LGBT Lawmaker Trying to Ban Game of Thrones Due to Gay Content

Quite a few people took to Facebook last evening to grumble over the latest episode of Game of Thrones (I was personally loving the hashtag #GOTdone that was popping up all over). However, one anti-gay Russian lawmaker is taking his hate for the show to a whole new level by trying to ban it in his country.

Attitude is reporting that Vitaly Milonov, a staunch anti-LGBT Russian politician, is calling for laws to censor shows like Game of Thrones that contain “certain ideological content.” He later added that “this content is not crucial for the main idea of the work, because this would make it too direct, but still they demonstrate that the ideas that had once been inadmissible are not normal.”

Milonov used GOT as a distinct example of this “work,” claiming that “every tenth character” in the show was “sexually deviant.” “Freedom of expression is just a flashy label that conceals the carcinogenic ideological additives,” he added. In short, being gay and “sexually deviant” are equatable to cancer.

As the writers at Attitude point out, we kind of wonder what Mr. Milonov would think of the giant Game of Thrones Iron Throne that was created entirely of 200 dildos. He also probably wouldn’t like the following clip from the show:
