Woman Crush Wednesday: Mel Stevens

Hi, I'm Mel, the current intern here at G Philly. This is my way of introducing myself as part of the team. I'm currently studying English at Temple University, with a creative writing concentration and LGBT Studies minor (I know it's a mouthful). Here, some women who are my crushes for life.

Kira Scott

She has only been in my life for a short period of time, but she has already made an impact. Kira has such a beautiful personality and smile. She is making the world a better place as a social worker and an incredible sense of patience. I enjoy being in her company and going on adventures with her. Kira has changed my life in many ways, and I look forward to our next adventure together.

Betty Bea

This woman right here is my twin, best friend and my muse and flame. She works as a councilor and my go-to dream interpreter. I am so thankful to have this amazing, hilarious and beautiful person in my life. I love our connection and how we think the same things too often. Betty Bea is the bee's knees of friends!

Katt Savoca

I've known Katt from our years working at a haunted house together (she was the head-on-the-table act!) Aspiring teacher, makeup artist, piercing apprentice, photographer, you name it she can do it! I cherish our friendship and all her amazing skills.

Crystal Magno

Soon to be Dr. Magno, I've known her since we were in 7th grade. Crystal is fiercely smart and has great taste in food. She is a sister to me and I cannot wait to see what life has in store for our friendship.

Jessie Tomchick

We met in LGBT Lives class last year and I'm so excited to have a class with her again this semester. She has been showing me more of Philly and it has been wonderful. Jessie is such a sweet little lady and a beautiful soul.

Arielle Whitehurst

My favorite hard-working barista. She has a great fashion sense and she's incredibly funny. Arielle has such a fun spirit about her, you can't help but be pulled into it. I adore this lady to bits!

Kara Wexler

Since kindergarten, we've created a lifelong bond. A fellow writer and employee at Apiary magazine, she has incredible talent putting her words to paper. I am so glad she is part of my life.

Brianna Linville

We met while performing Christmas Carol together at Bucks County Community College. Knowing her has been a life-changing experience. She’s nerdy, smart, and a talented costume designer and makeup artist.
