This May Be the Sexiest HIV/AIDS Fundraiser Ever

Mark MacKillop, Broadway performer, bares it all in a new book, Room XIV.

Imagine being on an international tour of the musical West Side Story and having to wake up in a different hotel room every week. That was reality for Broadway actor/singer/dancer Mark MacKillop for a year when he performed across the globe.

“It really wasn’t all that hard because our schedule was pretty similar in each city,” said MacKillop when I chatted with him. “But the hardest thing was getting used to the pillows in each hotel. It made it hard to sleep sometimes!”

Lucky for the sexy triple-threat, he took advantage of the every changing facade of his bedroom and created a new book, Room XIV, which documents his (barely-clothed) daily preparations in his various hotel rooms before he performed.

Yes, there’s plenty of eye candy to look at, but there is plenty of good that comes out of purchasing a copy of Room XIV: proceeds from the book go to one of the most widely-recognized HIV/AIDS organizations in the performing arts community: Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. MacKillop is no stranger to the organization as he performed numerous years in their annual striptease fundraiser Broadway Bares.

“After performing as a lead stripper in this year’s Broadway Bares, I had such an amazing experience I couldn’t think of a better way to give back and help than support Broadway Cares [with this book],” he said.

We have a (NSFW) preview gallery below of what you might find in MacKillop’s new book. For more information on Room XIV, or to order a copy, check out the website for the book.
