Democratic legislator Brian Sims is raising funds to take part in a special mountain climb with the Military Assistance Project, and he needs your help.
Sims is collecting donations to join a climbing team that will attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The group will consist of civilians and veterans, along with medical staff who will assist several wounded vets in the climb.
“This isn’t political or partisan,” wrote Sims in a fundraising email. “It’s HUMAN and with your help, together we can support our troops and our veterans.”
Those interested in helping Sims and the Military Assistance Project can do so by visiting his fundraising page via No Normal Life.
The Military Assistance Project was founded in 2011 to provide financial assistance to U.S. servicemen, servicewomen, reservists, and veterans. The organization creates partnerships between military personnel and pro bono attorneys to provide free legal services.
