DJ Carl Michaels Presents: 10 Tracks For Your Gay Summer Beach Trips

Every month, Gayborhood DJ Carl Michaels puts together a mix of tunes especially for G Philly.

I’ve put together one of my gayest top tens ever. Lots of energy this time around; big summer anthems that you can blast when cruising to your nearest gay beach of choice — or when sissying that walk through the Gayborhood.

You can find the playlist on Spotify, or enjoy each track in the videos and playlist after the jump.

“One By One (Junior Vasquez Remix)” by Cher

This remix is something for the ages. A semi-rare mix from the legendary Junior Vasquez makes this one of my favorite Pride month anthems. It’s got smiles all over it.

“I Will Never Let You Down” by Rita Ora

A super-hot track produced by Calvin Harris, who recently kicked Ora to the curb after dating her for a year.

“Summer” by Calvin Harris

He has the sexiest voice ever, and he’s stunning. This one is a monster — and made for summer.

“Let It Go” by Dragonette

Nope, it’s not from Frozen (though that would have made it gayer), but this is an anthem that I have been blaring for a few summers now. Listen to it—you won’t be able to get it out of your head.

“Do It Again” by Röyksopp & Robyn

I was excited when I heard that these two powerhouses were teaming up.. This single is massive, and will take over your summer. Let it.

“Killin’ It” by Foxy Shazam

Glam rock mania—does it get any gayer!? Most of you will not have heard of this band, but you’ll be happy you do now. Rock on, queens!

“Sissy That Walk” by RuPaul

Had to do it. This track has become an instant gay summer anthem.

“Oh No!” by Marina and the Diamonds

“I know exactly what I want and who I want to be … ” is one of my favorite lines from any song—ever. It speaks empowerment. Marina is one of the strongest voices out there, and you’ll find some of the most clever and powerful lyrics in her songs. This is from her best album The Family Jewels. Watch the video, it’s fun and pink and gay!

“This Time I Know It’s For Real” by Donna Summer

Miss Summer had so many anthemic moments, I just picked my favorite. So very ’80s and so deliciously gay.

“Goodbye, Goodbye” by Tegan and Sara

It doesn’t get more gay than two out lesbian sisters singing lost romance. I have a pure obsession with these two, and if you don’t know why, check this out.
