PHOTOS: Part of Icandy Collapsed Today

Icandy is in shambles right now, as part of the club’s facade came crumbling down onto the street early this morning. Philly Mag’s Dan McQuade snapped these photos of the building. I haven’t gotten official word on what could have happened, but I’m guessing it has something to do with yesterday’s rain storm. I have a call in to the PPD and Icandy manager Scott McFerren, but wanted to go ahead and post photos. Stay tuned for updates.

Now maybe they could put up “almost matching” facade like the flower boxes that don’t match from the left side to the right side. Will be perfect!

    What a shame

I hope it isn’t closed. I love going there….. Always a fun time.

The inevitable result of very very poor maintenance of the structure. They put money into garish flashing lights but nothing into the structure of the building. You can see small trees growing out of the cornice where it fell. L&I needs to go over that building in its entirely with a fine tooth comb before someone gets hurt.

    Funny. Very funny.

With a name like I. Candy, the place deserves to crash altogether.

    Good riddance!
