The Wizard of Oz Coming to Academy of Music

Heads up friends (and allies) of Dorothy: The Academy of Music just announced that it will stage a touring production of The Wizard of Oz from June 3rd to June 8th.

Starring Danielle Wade as Dorothy … this tour of The Wizard of Oz is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic. … This new production contains all the beloved Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg songs from the Oscar-winning movie score, all the favorite characters and iconic moments, plus a few surprises along the way, including new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

 The Wizard of Oz kicks off the Academy of Music’s Broadway Philadelphia series, which also includes Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles (June 11-15), Evita (June 17-22), and The Book of Mormon (July 29-September 14.) For tickets, visit kimmelcenter.org/broadway, or call 215-731-3333.
