This afternoon straight allies and MontCo lawmakers State Rep. Steve McCarter and Register of Wills D. Bruce Hanes met at the court house in Montgomery County for a good old-fashioned marriage rally.

The movement — organized the regional chapter of Marriage Equality for Pennsylvania (ME4PA) — was to build support for House Bill 1686, Pennsylvania's Marriage Equality Act McCarter and Philly State Rep. Brian Sims introduced last fall.

“Today, with this rally, we are building critical steam in moving this train forward in Pennsylvania,” McCarter said, according to a press release. “This bill should already be law, but because it unfortunately is not, each and every one of us needs to keep the pressure on Harrisburg to make this legislation a reality.”
