MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Nellie Oleson is Coming to Voyeur

Heads up, children of the ’80s (and younger fans of TV Land): Nellie Oleson is coming to Voyeur.

Alison Arngrim, who played Little House‘s sassiest prairie girl, is bringing her one-woman show, Confessions of a Prairie Bitch, to Voyeur, where she’ll share secrets from behind the scenes of Little House, and dish dirt on some of her ’70s and ’80s counterparts, like Marie Osmond, RuPaul, Phyllis Diller and Bette Midler. This will be the first time the show has played in Philadelphia since embarking on an international tour in the early-aughts.

The gays loved Arngrim’s fiery Nellie on Little House, but she truly situated herself as an A-plus ally in the ’80s, when she became an activist for AIDS Project Los Angeles (ALPA). In that role she achieved all kinds of milestones, including speaking before Reagan’s Presidential Commission on the HIV Epidemic in 1988, becoming the first woman to receive ALPA’s “Friend in Deed” award award, and, in 1992, she was honored by the Los Angeles City Council for the work she did for people living with HIV/AIDS.

Who knew there was so much heart under all those blonde ringlets and very expensive petticoats?

The show takes place April 24th at Voyeur (1221 Saint James Street) at 8 p.m. Tickets range in price from $22 and $40, and can be purchased here.
