Come to G Philly‘s LGBT
Flower Show Party

I spend so much of my time writing about other people’s events (I’m looking at you, Schonewolf!) that I thought I’d take a minute to chatter about one of our own.

I’m excited to announce that G Philly has once again been asked to host the LGBT Party at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Our afternoon soiree takes place opening weekend, so it’ll be a great chance to mingle with the gays and get an early peep of the show, which, this year, is themed “Art-iculture.” Here’s what we have planned for the day:

  • Project Runway All-Stars winner Mondo Guerra will stop by for a Q&A with Philly Mag Shoppist Editor Emily Goulet.
  • Reality TV stars the Beekman Boys will meet and greet guests, sign books and whip up some of their favorite cocktail concoctions
  • The Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus will sing us a few ditties
  • G Philly resident DJ Patrick DeMarco will spin some tunes for anyone in the  mood to dance.

There will be an open bar, manned by some of the Gayborhoods best cocktail shakers, and nibbles from nine local restaurants, including Circles Thai, Indeblue, Pennsylvania 6 and — for you sweet thangs — Ms Goody Cupcake. We’re also going to hold a little style contest for the best-dressed guests, so wear something snazzy (and colorful, for God’s sake. It’s time to start pretending like its spring around here.)

Oh, and did I mention I’m MCing? Lord help me.

The party takes place on Sun., March 2 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. From there we’ll stroll over to Penn 6 for the booze-y after-party. Tickets are $50, and can be purchased here. I hope to see all of you there!
