8 of This Week’s Gayest Music Video Releases

"Drag Race" alum Sharon Needles released her hot new music video "Dressed To Kill" this week.

“Drag Race” alum Sharon Needles’ hot new music video “Dressed To Kill” led a particularly gay week in music-video releases.

This has been a particularly gay week for music video releases — from Sharon Needles’ latest to a slew of pro-gay Russian parodies. I round up some of the notables below.

First, and perhaps the most WTF-worthy, is a video called “Gay Mountain” that’s been running around the clock on the U.K.’s Channel 4. This video has it all: Euro muscle bears, disco ball rainbows, and a Vladimir Putin look-alike. Sure, it is pure camp, but we all know what the U.K. network is trying to do here, and they get their point across fabulously.

Russian Kiss,” a track by Norwegian electro-pop goddess Annie, is pissing off a lot of Russians. The vid aims to go against Russian gay propaganda laws, and you will see exactly how girlfriend does it: with plenty of boy-on-boy and girl-on-girl action.

Out-and-proud singer-songwriter Matt Zarley just released a fun video for his dancefloor equality anthem “Somebody 4 Somebody.” While Matt is certainly looking dapper, I was way too distracted by all the other cute boys in the video. Even without the sexy clip, the song is a great anthem for all walks of LGBT life. You listening, Russia?

Macklemore’s “Same Love” songbird Mary Lambert  has been making quite the stir since her history-making Grammy performance last month. Her single, “She Keeps Me Warm” has picked up a lot of heat and is also beginning to bump on dancefloors thanks to a hot remix by D.J. LIam Keegan. It takes an already amazing song to a whole new level.

Rupaul’s Drag Race season three winner Sharon Needles released a video for her new single, “Dressed To Kill,” a track from her debut album, PG-13. In the fierce, fashion-forward clip, Needles is looking like a true diva, letting the world know that she is indeed that bitch. But even more fabulous is that her latest single coincides with the launch of her fashion line with designer Geoffery Mac. No need to lip-sync for your life anymore, hunty.

If you are looking for something a bit more toned-down, another Drag Race alum, Honey Mahogany, is the music queen for you. This week, the ebony diva released the sultry, jazzy video for her song, “Shoulda Known Better,” which she sang a smidgen of on this week’s episode of Looking. While the song is a bit boring, I have to say, Ms. Honey is looking deeelicious.

If the above videos aren’t gay enough for you, former American Idol archenemies Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj released new videos this week, and on the same day, of course. First, we have Mariah wearing nothing (shocker!) in the video for her snoozefest of a single “You’re Mine.” Some of you queened out for Mimi’s latest attempt at a hit, but I will be patiently waiting for an “Obsessed” part deux. I have a feeling I’ll be waiting a long time.

Minaj released a video for her aggressive new single, “Lookin Ass N***a“, from her upcoming album, The Pink Print. If you like the glossiness of her videos for “Beez In The Trap” and “Super Bass,” then this one is not for you.
