TONIGHT: William Way Throws a Holiday Bash in Latin and More

William Way’s trying something a little different this holiday season with its first annual Holiday Extravaganza and Latin Carol Eve.  It’s an evening of seasonal song and spoken word all in Latin. Philly comedic storyteller R. Eric Thomas will serve as host. To get in on the spirit of the occasion, he promises to perform a monologue in Latin. Translations will be available, but something tells me he’ll be hilarious even if you don’t know what he’s saying. The musical portion of the evening is a parade of yuletide favorites, like “Musicus Parvulus” (“Little Drummer Boy”), “Avia Renone Calcebatur” (“Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”) and “Silentio Noctis” (you guessed it: “Silent Night”). 6 p.m., free, William Way Community Center, 1315 Spruce St.

Philly Black Gay Pride (PBGP) and karaoke queen DJ Sara Sherr are hosting a joint shindig tonight at Tabu that benefits PBGP’s 2014 Pride festivities. Scandal Thursdays + Karaoke is pretty much just what it sounds like: a viewing of Scandal (which, heads up, will be a repeat since the winter finale aired last week) followed by an evening of singing. There are tons of drink specials, and even a cash raffle prize that would come in mighty handy a week before Christmas. 9 p.m., $5, Tabu Lounge and Sports Bar,  200 S. 12th St.

Hey, ladies. Kiyomi and Lauren from The Real L Word are hosting Mistletoe Jam tonight at Icandy. There will be a meet and greet, some kind of “crazy contest” and tunes from former Sisters’ DJ SHE. 10 p.m., call for cover, Icandy, 254 S. 12th St.
