Betty Crocker Comes Out for Gay Families

Just in time for National Coming Out Day, Betty Crocker has released a video called “Betty Celebrates All Families 2013” to show the company’s support for marriage equality. 

GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz applauds the effort, saying, “By showcasing diverse families and continuing its strong support of LGBT families, Betty Crocker is helping to show Americans that the key ingredient to a family is simply love. … On National Coming Out Day GLAAD joins Betty Crocker in celebrating out and proud LGBT people and their families around the country.”

But before the cake even had a chance to rise, Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins has called for a boycott of Betty Crocker products. Yea, good luck with that one, Debbie Downer.
