Because the disease can be spread via skin to skin contact causing genital and anal warts that have been responsible for certain types of cancer, it turns out gay men are just as at risk for contracting and spreading HPV as are heterosexual women. And the most recent research shows that the vaccine can help prevent the spread of the disease in both women and gay men.
