Sunday, August 12

Take the kids to see the Trail of the Lorax (9:30 a.m.) at the Philadelphia Zoo.

It’s Gay Day at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire (11 a.m.) in Mount Hope (less than two hours from Philly). Proceeds from tickets are donated to the Attic Youth Center, Team Philadelphia, Delaware Valley Legacy Fund and the William Way.

Take a guided foodie-friendly walking tour through Chinatown (2 p.m.) with the Independence Visitor Center.
