Madonna's directorial debut plays at the Ritz this weekend
This isn’t Shanghai Surprise, though it does do its fair share of globetrotting. Madonna’s W.E., the first film she’s directed, plays at the Ritz this weekend. It tells the story of the romance between England’s King Edward VIII and an American divorcée Wallis Simpson. The two-tiered romantic drama also parallels the 2oth century love story with a contemporary tale of a married woman having an affair with a Russian.
