Movies like Kissing Jessica Stein may not always paint a pretty picture of the dating scene (gay or straight) in the best light. And if you have your own horror stories to tell, why not check out a new twist on meeting Mr. or Ms. Right with spiritual speed dating at the William Way (Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m.)? Created by Forging Connections, the matchmaking event delves into the deeper meaning of attraction in hopes of providing single LGBT men and women with a meaningful way of meeting that “special” someone.

Who knows – you could find your true love – or even a new best friend?

So whether you’re a single queer college student new to Philadelphia, recently single, a gay man tired of the online pickup scene, a partnered transwoman from the ‘burbs, a lesbian bookworm, a bisexual married man, or any other variation under the rainbow, the folks at the William Way tell us this event could be for you. The five-minute mini-meet-ups will keep the party moving and the connections coming. And participants 21 and older will even receive two free drink tickets for every paid ticket to help loosen up the conversation a bit.
