The women of Machine Shop Boulangerie have made flaky pastries exciting again with their flavorful, perfecltly crafted viennoiserie, available at select cafes around the city.

But bakers Katie Lynch and Emily Riddell have just begun dipping their toes in retail this week.

This past Sunday, they held a flash sale at Bok Bar, on the roof of the building where they bake. And this weekend, they’re popping up on East Passyunk with breads and pastries.

On Saturday, June 24th, Machine Shop will be at Nick Elmi’s ITV with breads, croissants, made-to-order toasts, cocktails, and cold brew coffee.

This is a great thing: until now, the only place to get Machine Shop’s flaky, buttery goodness was at cafes like ReAnimator in Fishtown and Kensington, Menagerie Coffee in Old City and Elixr in Center City — but miss the morning rush and you might be out of luck. (I can’t tell you how excited I was when I popped into Elixr yesterday afternoon and a single crispy-tender kouighn amman, with a glossy pool of strawberry jam in its center, was there waiting for me in the pastry case.)

The bakers will be at ITV from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday. Our advice? Get there early to get in on the goodness. Check out the menu below.
