New BYOB to Open in Wayne

Despite good reviews, Wayne’s tiny crepe spot, Creperie Bechamel just closed itss doors this past Sunday. But the creperie is making way for something a little more upscale and refined.

Tara Buzan, owner of To the Table Catering just bought the restaurant and is planning to open BYOB in the space this fall. Buzan previously owned A Taste of Britain, but has been working as a private chef and caterer for the last 5 years. But she’s ready to get back into the restaurant business.

“The timing just seemed right. I sold my previous restaurant when my son was one,” said. “Now he’s six and I guess I just have the itch.”

At the Table will be a “modern, kind of Pumpkin meets Majolica meets French Laundry restaurant” says Buzan. The restaurant will have 26-30 seats and be open every night for dinner, except Mondays, and for brunch Friday through Sunday.

Buzan is especially excited about the tasting menu that will be offered each night. Guests will be able to pick between a five or eight course tasting. Then can then pick choices from a list of ten dishes made at the chef’s discretion each night.

Buzan is planning to open sometime in October or November, at the latest. It’s quick turnaround, but the space is tiny and Buzan’s vision is clear. She grew up in the area and wanted a small, quaint place she could put her stamp on.

“The area is kind of dead, it needs some life, and there’s no high end BYOs here,” said Buzan “so that’s exactly what I’m trying to bring.”
