It has been a just over a year since Kanella closed its doors at its original location and set its sights on Queen Village. It came as a bit of a surprise when Konstantinos Pitsillides closed the super popular BYOB in favor of a bigger and better location but he continues to receive good reviews and the added revenue of a bar.

Though Pitsillides can be nearly impossible to track down, rumors of what might happen to the original Kanella location have been swirling. And now Philly.com reports that Pitsillides wife, Caroline Christian, said the new restaurant will be a simple, traditional kebab house. The new BYOB will be called Kanella Grill and it will be open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday.

A photo posted by Billy Penn shows Kanella Grill is hiring and could be ready to open as early as July.
