Coeur Rolls Out “Mommy Juice Weekdays”

A special happy hour for parents driven to drink.

We’re sure you’re not the first person to be driven to drink by your children, but Coeur might be the first bar and restaurant to capitalize on that fact. Called “Mommy Juice Weekdays,” Leigh Maida and Brendan Hartranft, who balance parenthood and restaurant-ownership themselves, are offering a daytime happy hour from noon until 3:00 with select draft wines and beers for $4 aimed at stay-at-home-parents. In their words, “To all the home-bound, bored, frazzled, sticker covered and sticky parents among you, we say WELCOME.”

They’re encouraging you to bring your kids (preferably sleeping in strollers if you’re that lucky), to be eligible for the special pricing. In a pinch we’re sure that some refrigerator worthy 3rd grade art projects would also get you the goods.

Though their regular happy hour menu isn’t available that early in the day, their lunch menu is, so you’ll be able to enjoy your $4 “juice” with a selection of charcuterie, a Parisian ham sandwich, or a poutine burger. Even better? Coeur has a couple of off-menu items just for the sippy cup set in mind. They will make, just for kiddos, a small burger or a grilled cheese, both of which, Maida says, are “served with enough fries for parents to steal.”
