New York cafe picks Philadelphia for its first out-of-market cafe.

Bluestone Lane, a chain of six cafes out of New York that have sprung up since 2013 is opening its first out-of-market location. The cafe will be inside the Radisson Blu Warwick Hotel at 17th and Locust. Bluestone is inspired by founder Nicholas Stone’s home café culture of Melbourne Australia. In addition to coffee, the former Coffee Bar will offer healthy-orientated breakfast and lunch options.

Similar to Bluestone Lane’s flagship location in the West Village, the cafe will offer table service and a menu that will include signature dishes like:

  • Avocado Smash topped with tahini, heirloom cherry tomatoes, feta, sunflower sprouts & e.v.o.o
  • Coconut Quinoa Porridge topped with cashew cream, sliced almonds and mixed berries
  • Gluten-free Banana Bread topped with fresh ricotta, toasted pecans, banana and drizzled with organic honey

The La Marzocco espresso coffee machines will serve Bluestone Lane’s coffee blend created in partnership with Melbourne-Australia roaster Niccolo Coffee.

Bluestone Lane plans to open multiple locations in Philadelphia throughout 2015-2016. The first location is scheduled to open by Saturday, November 21st.

This isn’t the only change coming to the Warwick, speculation has it that Chestnut Hill’s El Poquito will replace Tavern 17 in the building. No timeline on that, and Tavern 17 continues to operate.
