Tap and Kitchen Opens Tonight in Center City

The owners of two popular sports bar opens a new bar and restaurant with a different focus

An addition to Philadelphia’s extensive gastropub bar scene opens tonight at 1420 Locust St. in Center City.

The owners of two sports bars, (McFaddens Ball Park and Tavern on Broad), present Tap and Kitchen, a new well-rounded bar and restaurant with a diverse menu and large beer selection.

Aiming to step out of the traditional sports bar scene, Tap and Kitchen will focus strictly on presenting a diverse selection of good food and great beer.

With a 24-line draft system, the taps will be divided into thirds: common domestics (like Bud light), advanced and imported (like Golden Monkey), and sophisticated, high-end beers (like uncommon local and national brews).

The drink menu will also be inspired by the large beer selection. They’ve created a beer-infused cocktail menu as a refreshing twist to the popular liquor infusion trend offered throughout various Center City bars.

Tap and Kitchen is also focusing on a strong food menu, with the kitchen led by Jeff Burke (the former executive chef at the Mansion on Main Street and ex of the crew at Citizens Bank Park) and a diverse selection of items ranging from fresh ahi tuna wraps and stuffed pork chops, to a pancetta-and-ale cheese dip and homemade flatbreads.

Tap and Kitchen will be open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The bar and restaurant is set to open tonight, Weds. Oct. 28, at 4:00 p.m.
