For All You Super Beer Nerds: A “State Of Craft Beer” Summit

Because the next best thing to drinking beer is talking about beer...right?

So this is kind of a weird one, but the folks from St. Benjamin Brewery (who we like) are getting together with the crew from Brooklyn Brewery (who we also like) during the Philly leg of Brooklyn Brewery’s “Brooklyn Mash” roadtrip for a lecture (which will be recorded and broadcast as a podcast) called The State Of Craft Beer.

And if you’re the sort of person who just loves arguing about beer, then guess what? You can go, too.

They’re calling this thing The State Of Craft Beer and will be “examining the industry as it is today and as it is likely to grow in the future,” according to the press materials. And it’s not just going to be just the two crews, either. Yes, Christina Burris from St. Benjamin and Steve Hindy from Brooklyn Brewery will be there, but they’ll be talking with Sam Calagione from Dogfish Head, Daniel LaBert, executive director of Brewers of Pennsylvania, and John Holl, editor of All About Beer magazine, too.

Tickets to get in the door are only $6. And because it wouldn’t really be much of a beer event without some drinking, teams from St. Benjamin, Dogfish Head and Brooklyn Brewery will all be pouring pay-as-you-go beers throughout the event.

The summit itself won’t be happening until Thursday, October 22, but tickets are going on sale today and are limited. So if this is the kind of thing that you get excited about, you might want to think about picking yours up early. Just to make sure you’re not left out in the cold.
