What To Look For At Tonight’s Grand Re-Opening Of XFINITY Live

XFINITY Live! adds new restaurant and brings in new concepts, renovations and expansions to the dining and entertainment district

Tonight, Friday October 2nd, Philadelphia’s XFINITY Live! is having its grand opening featuring numerous changes and improvements to the popular dining and entertainment destination.

Plus Jason Cichonski.

Located in the heart of South Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Sports Complex, a venue featuring dozens of restaurants and entertainment options, XFINITY Live! introduces their new expansion with 52,000 sq. ft. of outdoor space added (just in time for this beautiful weather), along with improvements and visual enhancements to the concert and event stage.

Wanna know exactly what they’ve done with the place? Of course you do. So here’s what’s new at Xfinity Live this season.

Renowned Philadelphia chef, Jason Cichonski of Ela, The Gaslight and Bravo TV’s “Top Chef” is going to be the man behind  1100 Social, a recycling of the former Spectrum Grill space, trnaforming it into a brand-new eatery. The new restaurant expanded with an outdoor patio covered in lush landscaping with a heated dining area and fire pits. The bar offers a variety of hand-crafted cocktails. And Cichonski himself is launching a new menu of shareable plates inspired by a blend of Mexican and Asian flavors interspersed with classic dishes.

In addition to the new restaurant, the new lineup for tonight’s grand opening also features one of Philadelphia’s most recognizable cheesesteak joints, Geno’s Steaks. Located in the Philly Marketplace inside of the complex, Geno’s will be serving (you guessed it) cheesesteaks. Both kinds–wit and witout.

Along with the brand new 1100 Social and addition of Geno’s Steaks, there have also been landscape renovations and design enhancements (none of which we really care about), as well as new items added to a few other restaurants in the complex (which we do).

Victory Beer Hall, famous for their craft beer selection and elongated beer hall style tables, expands their outdoor seating area with a glass and steel building that opens to an exterior beer garden and fire pits.

PBR and Grill, the western themed venue with mechanical bulls and an urban-country style also introduces a 3,000 sq. ft. patio addition with fire pits, TV’s and new indoor/outdoor bars.

The Terrace, adjacent to the new 1100 Social, is a 4,000 st. ft. addition to the new elevated private event space. The area features a beautiful wood teak wall accent and 9 ft. tall in diameter ceiling fans. Designed as an ideal gathering space for groups and clients, the high, covered ceiling and open-air space overlooks Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park.

XFINITY Live! is also launching various upcoming events in honor of their grand opening/re-opening. J. Roddy Walston & The Business free concert is set for next week, Friday October 9th, the 4th annual Oktoberfest Live! is Saturday and October 17th, and the Nightmare on Broad Street Halloween Bash is on Saturday October 31st, as well as much more to come.
