All The Best Stuff: Your Philly Beer Week Guide For Tuesday, June 2

Odds are good you already missed the weirdest Beer Week event of the day–the Oxbow and Mike Fava lunch at Jose Pistola’s which was attended by two live owls–but have no fear. We combed through the entire schedule and picked three events happening tonight that are totally worth your attention.

There’s one for the beer lovers, one for the chef-stalkers and one for those of you who just love drag queens and glitter. And beer. But also glitter.

So check out our picks after the jump, won’t you? We would never steer you wrong.

There Is No Such Thing As Too Many Chefs

Or maybe there is, but the team at Sancho Pistola’s are going to find out tonight when they bring in 7 of the city’s best chefs (plus their own Adan Trinidad) to cook a single 8-course, 11-beer pairing dinner. The chefs are Chris Kearse of Will, Tim Spinner of La Calaca Feliz, Ned Maddock of Amis, Aila DeVowe of Bar Ferdinand, Sean Magee of Heritage, Kris Serviss of Blue Duck Sandwich Co., and Daniella Amabile of The Oyster House. The beers? Some of the best and rarest in the world–like Cantillon St. Lamvinus, Schnieder Aventinus Cuvee Barrique, J.W. Lees 2012 Harvest, Oxbow’s Oxtoberfest(blended barrel aged 2011,2012,& 2013), Firestone Walker’s Lil Opal, and more. The fun starts at 7pm tonight. Tickets are $125 per person and available through the restaurant. If I were you, I’d call right now if you’re interested.

Forest and Main and Los Gallos at Taproom on 19th

The South Philly spot is inviting a couple of studs to its bar tonight. On the food side they’ve got Los Gallos tacos, who will be making fresh tacos all night. And on tap, they’ve got three beers from Forest & Main that rarely find their way outside the Ambler brewpub.

Sly Fox, Stoudt’s and Victory will be showing off their German beers. The kitchen will be handling the grub. And the night will feature a full-length performance by Martha Graham Cracker and her cabaret band in celebration of LGBT Pride Month.
