Wine Week: Where Should I Go Drinking Tonight?

From flights, chocolate and cheese to a mystery wine dinner.

If you’ve been holding out on throwing yourself into the Wine Week festivities until the weekend, tonight is your chance to catch up on all of the drinking.

It’s Friday Night Flights and tonight, you can be the player – er, I mean, drinker. Check out Osteria between 6 and 9 pm for a flight of wines from the Antinori Estate with Thom Horsey, Antinori’s own in-house expert. For $40 all-inclusive, head over to Panorama for six different wines (plus cheese and other hors d’oeuvres). Or, for another cheese-y option, try Bardot, where Sean Faeth from Artisan’s Cellar will be offering flights of French wines paired with Di Bruno Bros. cheese.

If you’re looking for something a little sweeter, Barbuzzo is pairing wines with Marcie Turney and Val Safran‘s own artisanal chocolates from Marcie Blaine. Paradiso is also offering some dessert pairings, at Wine at Nine. For $15, you get one glass of port paired with a chocolate dessert and one glass of sherry paired with Paradiso cheese.

If all of this sounds boring and you’re looking for a little more drama in your wine week, well, there’s something for you, too. London Grill is hosting “A Murder in Paris,” an improv murder mystery wine dinner. Tickets will run you $70 in advance and $80 at the door. The mysterious dinner begins at 7 pm, but the cocktail hour starts at 6:15, which is important to note because we’re fairly certain you’ll need to be a little drunk in order to get into the spirit of this event.
