Wine Week: Where Should I Go Drinking Tonight?

Well, if you read yesterdays 12-Pack of Wine Week deals, you should already have some idea. But if you’re looking for something more (or something that is only happening tonight), we’re hear to help. Here’s the best of what’s happening tonight for Philly Wine Week.

A.bar is doing “Muscadet Madness” tonight at 18th and Walnut–a flight of three muscadets paired with freshly-shucked oysters for just $22.

If you’re into sherry, both Jamonera and Bardot are doing events tonight. At Jamonera, it takes the form of sherry cocktails, pixtos and author Talia Baiocchi and her fantastic book “Sherry: A Modern Guide to the Wine World’s Best-Kept Secret”. At Bardot, Tim Kweeder (of Petruce et al) will be doing a sherry Q&A accompanied by a tasting, snacks, sherry cocktails and the music of Prince.

At Tria in Rittenhouse AND Wash West, they’re doing weird wines–namely ones from Turkey, Croatia and Serbia. In order to stoke your curiosity, the house is letting all glasses of their strange wines go for $10 a pour, and who knows? Maybe Serbians make kick-ass wine?

Finally, for those of you in the mood for something a little bit harder, Sassafrass is doing “Wine In My Whiskey”–a side-by-saide tasting of McCallan 12 and Woodford Reserve set against the wines in whose barrels the whiskies were aged. That one runs from 7-9pm and will run you $20.
