Strippers, Pogo Sticks And Beer: AC Beer & Music Fest Is This Weekend

Missing your annual stripper dunk tank fix? Lucky for you, you haven’t entirely missed your chance to buy tickets for this weekend’s Atlantic City Beer & Music Fest where, in addition to hundreds of breweries and live performances by national rock bands, a water tank that invites you to dunk strippers is de rigeur.

With tickets still available for the Friday night and Saturday afternoon sessions at the AC Convention Center the fest is arguably the largest on the east coast (and possibly the second biggest in the U.S. after the Great American Beer Fest in Denver). Plus, with the festival celebrating its tenth anniversary, it’s grown to be so much more than just beer and music – though with Taking Back Sunday and Lucero each headlining one of these sessions, music is a pretty big part. But this year, new entertainment additions include a pogo stick stunt team (no, really), “Extreme Chef” Terry French, a Vintage Living Room equipped with old-school arcade games, and the Beer for Babes Brigade beer concierge service, run by the women’s beer appreciation group I founded. Returning this year are toilet bowl races, yoga, bull riding and a beard and mustache competition, along with seminars like my “Beer Blinders” blind tasting workshop.

Oh, then there’s beer. Founders, Lagunitas, Ballast Point, New Holland, North Coast and Stone are just a few of the sexy brands that will join local breweries (and some cideries and meaderies). There’s also a beer judging contest and a people’s choice award. There may even be a few celebrities floating around, as last year brought the Jersey-raised actor who played Dante in my favorite comedy, “Clerks.”

Tickets are $55 in advance and $60 at the door. Get yours through the link below.
