Other Rooster Soup backers received a limited edition poster of FedNuts’ NoseGo mural.

We’ve all been waiting patiently and excitedly for Rooster Soup Co., the collaborative project between Federal Donuts and Broad City Ministry in which the unused Federal Donuts chicken parts (like backs and necks) get turned into stock and and used as the base delicious soups, the proceeds of which will be donated to Broad City Ministry.

Back in july we updated you on some of the Rooster Soup Co. menu items. Recently, the $100-$300 backers of the project’s kickstarter were invited to a pop-up meal featuring a preview of the soon-to-be Rooster soups. The pop-up menu included:

  • Rooster “Ramen” (shoyu ramen broth, crispy smoked pork belly, kombu, Haiga Mai half-milled rice, celery pickles, dried shiitakes)
  • Erin O’Shea’s Texas Chili (creekstone Farms brisket, Shiner Bock, tomato, garlic, buttermilk chive cornbread crumbles)
  • Squash + Tomato Soup (heirloom tomato juice, butternut squash, ginger, lemongrass, dried mushrooms, kombu, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, lime juice, vermicelli).

In other news, Rooster Soup Co. is narrowing down the possible locations but hasn’t committed to one place yet.
