A Summer Barbecue In February

Okay, so this whole snow thing is getting old already. And the cold? Tired of it.

Apparently, so are George and Jennifer Sabatino, because they’re bringing in their buddy Scott Schroeder and the three of them are throwing a backyard, 4th of July-style barbecue at Aldine on February 2nd.

The menu is a bit fancier than what you’d likely find at your cousin Ralph’s backyard soiree, but it still looks pretty awesome. $30 buys you a family-style spread of cola-can chicken, pulled pork, potato salad and cornbread-topped cowboy beans.

If that’s not enough to fill you up, there’ll also be root vegetable salad, tuna poke with mustard soy sauce, grilled shrimp skewers, beef short rib lettuce wraps, Schroeder’s “signature” fried sardine tacos and George’s marrow sausage sammies–sausage-stuffed potato rolls with shallot relish and black garlic aioli. Jennifer will also be pouring cocktails for the event.
