Announcing Philadelphia Magazine’s 50 Best Restaurants for 2015

Three months. That’s about how long it takes us to eat at every important restaurant in the city. And then eat there again. And, sometimes, again.

Three months, 127 restaurants (give or take a few), somewhere around 300 meals, and days and nights spent debating, discussing and arguing over how the final list ought to look.

Since the last time we named the best restaurants in the city (way back in 2013), Philadelphia has gone through another major restaurant boom. We’ve lost a few places, but we’ve gained many more. Of the 50 restaurants on this list, 21 have never appeared before — which is remarkable. And while some of the veterans have risen and some have fallen, not a single one holds the same spot it did on that last list.
