Philadelphia Is Getting Crabby

Philadelphia is getting crabby and it isn’t because the Eagles lost (thank goodness). We’ve been spotting crab specials pop up around town. Corner Foodery is offering snow crabs for $9.99 per pound or three blue crabs for $9.99. Each order of blue crabs gets a free 12-ounce draft. And tonight, from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight, the deal works in reverse. Buy a beer and get an order of free crabs.

Across town, Michael Schulson’s Independence Beer Garden is welcoming fall with a Monday night special of crabs, beer and Monday Night Football. $14 gets you a pound of blue crab claws seasoned with garlic and beer, corn on the cob and a side of slaw. Select beers are $4 and pitchers are $12.

Matyson is also offering crabs all week. In the BYOB’s traditional Restaurant Week counter-programming, the five-course crab dinner is available for $55. Check out the full menu below.
