Jon Taffer, host of Spike TV’s Bar Rescue has been spotted in Philadelphia this week. Yesterday, he was seen “stressing” West Tavern (formerly Westy’s) at 15th and Callowhill. WXPN’s Robert Drake then spotted him on South Street at Lickety Split.
While Taffer has confirmed that the show is filming in Philadelphia through September 12th, the next location to be hit remains unknown. If you spot Taffer or any TV crews around town, let us know where.
The Philly bar scenes will likely air sometime during the upcoming season of Bar Rescue, which premiers on October 5th.
This isn’t Taffer’s first time in Philadelphia. During season one of the show, Taffer visited Downey’s and Swanky Bubbles. Downey’s still survives at Front and South Streets. Swanky Bubbles, which was renamed Sheer for the show, reverted its name and shuttered in November, 2011. The location is now home to Victoria Freehouse.
UPDATE (9/6/14): Taffer has turned Lickety Split into 2nd State. The “Bar Rescue” reveal is set for tonight. Last night Taffer and the Bar Rescue team were spotted at Plush in Glenside.
UPDATE (9/5/14): Security is spotted in front of Lickety Split today and the windows are covered.
