First Look: Independence Beer Garden Menu Preview

The wait is over, Michael Schulson‘s Independence Beer Garden will be opening this week.

UPDATE: No, it won’t. The project has been delayed again. The new projected opening date is July 15.




To hold you over, we have an exclusive first look at chef (and former Top Chef contestant) Travis Masar's menu for the highly anticipated garden. 

The menu has a variety of offerings ranging from salads, sandwiches, large plates and small, as well as some classic desserts. We're looking forward to the Rosemary Gravy Fries with Cheese Curd, Corn on the Cob with Chili Butter & Cotija Cheese and of course, because we are Philadelphians, loyal to all things pretzel, Pretzel Bites accompanied by House Mustard.

As for larger portions there is plenty more to be exited about. We're dying to try the Beer Roasted Brick ChickenGrilled Mahi Mahi with Tomato Jam, and a Carolina BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. 

As for dessert there will be a selection of novelty ice creams like Strawberry Shortcake Bars and Choco Tacos (talk about a blast from the past). You can also take part in DIY S'mores if you're looking to get your hands dirty.

With a menu as good as this we're counting down the days until opening.

    I like that these things open up in the dead of summer when it is unbearable. Couldn’t of opened this two months ago when the weather was nice?
