Fire Won’t Stop Hawthornes 5th Annual IPA Block Party

Despite a fire closing down Hawthornes earlier this year, nothing can stop the beer cafe from enjoying a full day of beer, food and music.

This Saturday, July 5th, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. join Hawthornes as they host the 5th Annual IPA Block Party. With drafts from all over, great food and live music going on the entire day, you should start getting excited for the weekend now. Entry is free – just pay as you go (cash only) and enjoy all this party has to offer.

“Nothing can stop the beer cafe from enjoying a full day of beer, food and music” except the permitting issues that stopped the beer cafe from enjoying a full day of beer, food and music on May 5th.

Kinda weak. They had Pliny, Bullfrog and other rare stuff last year. Most of these are common. Most of them are also average to below beers. (yards, harpoon, susquehanna, goose island, weyerbacher, etc.) Oh well.

I wish something would stop this family from controlling so much of the beer market in this city. When 3 bars (Hawthores, Caimbridge and Bainbridge St. Barrel House) are owned and operated by the same family who owns an operates a beer distributor (Bella Vista), its no surprise who when the lions share of certain limited releases are only ever seen at these bars.
