Celebrate Philly At The #whyilovephilly Party

Looking for something to do Thursday, June 26th? Well consider yourself busy because Philly Love Notes, the Delaware River Waterfront Corp and Philadelphia magazine are hosting the third #whyilovephilly party. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. join the 700 other Philadelphians looking to party for their city and get a sneak peek at the new Spruce Street Harbor Park (SSHP) pop-up on the Delaware River waterfront.  And if the sneak peek wasn’t enough, the SSHP is opening the next day, Friday, June 27th, and will have landscaped floating barges with restaurants and bars, nets that suspend visitors over water in the marina, a 50-hammock lounge, urban beach and boardwalk, light show, mist area and more. The SSHP is located on Spruce Street and Columbus Boulevard.

The #whyilovephillyparty is loaded with food, drinks, music, giveaways, declarations of love for Philly and most importantly, ice cream. With the help of Little Baby’s Ice Cream, the party will host a new flavor that combines Stock’s pound cake, strawberries sourced from Greensgrow Farm and mint grown in Little Baby’s backyard garden. And the only thing that makes this treat that much sweeter? It’s free to all attendees.

Tickets are $10 and will get you 1 free beer/cocktail and concert. And if you’re looking to really drink or fill up, food and drinks will be available on purchase. Vendors from all over Philly – Duke & Winston, PHLMade, Art Star and more – will also be showcasing their products for party goers and giving away prizes. Plus if you’ve been looking for a way to show some love for your city, a #whyilovephilly wall will be there for you to write down your reasons for loving and living in the City of Brotherly Love. So celebrate your city in the best way possible: surrounded by food, booze, music, prizes and everything Philly.
