Uh Oh: The IRS Raided Branzino On Tuesday

Rittenhouse Square was all abuzz last night with news that the IRS raided Branzino, the popular BYOB on 17th Street near Spruce. According to a report by Fox 29, there were guns and bulletproof vests involved.

Our attempts to reach the restaurant and its owner were unsuccessful. The IRS did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Here’s the full report on Fox 29. Note the Best of Philly cameos.

Why the heck do these aholes need the guns and bullet proof vests? such aholes, such losers

Because jerks make tons of threats against them (especially in the tax offices). When you have people willing to attack your office with planes (see link below from only a couple years ago), it makes you be on guard no matter where you go.

Why does Fiorillo insist on overstating this story?
The story is the fact they were raided. Ok, fine.
Instead, he over-sensationalizes and plays up the “guns and bulletproof vests”
So then he tries to be a journalist and get to the reason.
    Calls the restaurant. No response.
    Calls IRS. No response.

Then, instead of working his sources ……..or reaching out to other agencies…….. or heaven forbid, talking to witnesses…. Viktor leaves the reader hanging as to why.
Where are all the witness, Vickie? After all, you claim that Rittenhouse was all abuzz.
Coudlnt you find someone who saw this?

Nope. Nothing. Instead, we have a story (if that) and it ends there. After two sentences
Great job Vik. A Pulitzer is on its way
Geez, even “Jayhawk “Joel Mathis could have done better here.
