Pairing Beer And Muffins At 320 Market Cafe

So 320 Market Cafe has already tried pairing beer with Girl Scout Cookies. When that proved to be a success, they went and did the same thing with chocolate-covered strawberries (weird) and bacon (natch). And now, they’re having another go at the pairing game–this time with freshly-baked muffins.

Now granted, these aren’t your run-of-the-mill blueberry breakfast muffins. They’re sweet and savory versions crafted to pair with the beers they’re being matched up with. And the 320 Market crew are doing four 4oz pours paired with four muffins for just $12.

Yeah, there’s a menu (along with tasting notes from the kitchen). Check it out after the jump.

320 Market Cafe Beer & Muffin Pairing

Yards Saison + Rosemary Fig Muffin
Finely diced figs coax bright fruity notes from this farmhouse style beer, while the aromatic tang of rosemary leaves a lasting impression of the great outdoors. The muffin’s creamy richness creates a pleasant contrast to the effervescence of a Saison.

Victory Lager + Pico de Gallo Muffin
Two local favorites – our housemade pico de gallo and Victory Brewing Company’s Lager combine to capture a true snapshot of summer. Vine-ripened tomato, fresh avocado, and cilantro emphasize the understated malt profile of this beer from Downingtown, PA.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale + Honey Chipotle Muffin
Crisp, refreshing hops cut through south-of-the-border spices in the muffin to reveal a subtle yet complex sweetness beneath the heat. The bready texture of the muffin pulls a grain-rich undertone from this traditionally hop-forward style.

Founders Porter + S’mores Muffin
The roasty depth of Founder’s Porter brings to mind images of campfires and toasted marshmallows, while Belgian chocolate rounds out the flavor of our decadent muffin, which is an homage to the classic summer camp staple.
