Demolition Begins on Cheesecake Factory Site

Demolition has begun at the corner of 15th and Walnut Streets. That can only mean one thing, Cheesecake Factory will be here before you know it. And if that makes your soul ache a bit, at least it’s going to be a Cheesecake Factory in a really nice building.

Still too short. It’s zoned freaking CMX-5, but Midwood hasn’t built anything tall outside of New York.

I’m embarrassed anytime a chain restaurant opens and is successful in our city so full of culinary delights. I guess those mid-western tourists need someplace familiar to eat. Sheesh. Sad.

Is this the corner where the tobacco shop used to be? N.W. Corner?
Sad – I hate chain restaurants unless I’m in NJ where it’s OK 😉

You know, it is possible to like chains and like good food too. So much elitism on this site.

I propose a swimming or yoga apparel store that cheesecake factory patrons have to walk through.
Or a 7th level vegan organic kale and acai berry smoothie shop with seating peering toward the stairwell so that wealthy health snobs can look disapprovingly upon the ‘murricans.
