“Cake Boss” Coming To Rittenhouse

Buddy Valastro (above) is that guy from that show Cake Boss. And his home base, Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, is going to be expanding into the space at 21st and Walnut here in Philly that once held Hollywood Tans. Is that big news? It depends on how you feel about cable-famous bakers, I suppose.

But regardless, the crew from Philadelphia Wedding has the details. So if you’re a fan of fondant, go check it out.

The cakes are delicious. I travelled to Hoboken with my daughter Erin for her 11th birthday because she wanted Buddy’s chocolate cake for her birthday celebrations. We also left with autographed CD’s of each cake boss season. My daughter is ecstatic that he’s coming to Philly!

You come to Philly to help a bakery and now you open one and compete with them. Buddy is greedy. There are a lot of old bakeries in Philadelphia. Buddy has enough money. Stay in NJ and leave these bakeries survive. People only come to you because you are on T V. I had you cake and pastries and what a big disappointment. Glad I didn’t pay for it but felt bad for my friend who did.

Buddy was just in Philly claiming to “help” one of the best bakeries in our city. Now he wants to open nearby, sounds more like he is trying to hurt them more then help them. Who is Buddy to go around to other bakeries and put there products down. He needs to start tasting and judging his own stuff. I tried his pound cake at a party it had No taste at all and his cannoli was way too cheesy. Like they say, “you are what you eat” tasteless and cheesy sounds like Buddy the only thing missing is greed but his actions show that. He takes advantage of his customers with his over priced products, refers to brides as bridezillas as he is robbing them with his prices and now opening up in other cities not caring about the hard working bakery owners that have been in their locations for years trying to make a living. Stay in Hoboken!
