Lobster Rolls For The Main Line

Luke’s Lobster is great for those of us who live and work in the city. A serious taste of Maine with a cult following and some of the best lobster rolls anywhere? Really, it’s great for anyone within reasonable driving distance of Sansom Street.

But I get it. Sometimes you’re out in the ‘burbs and you want a lobster roll that’s not going to involve a drive into the heart of Center City. Well I’ve got good news for you. The Insider is reporting on the opening of Quincy’s Lobster Rolls in Berwyn–another fish-shack-styled fast-casual place for lobster rolls and other flavors of Maine.

Now granted, Quincy’s was opened by a crew of locals, with no ties to the Maine coast beyond memories of vacations spent there. But I’ve got to give them credit for two things. First, they seem to understand the basics of what makes a proper lobster roll: Lobster meat, a little mayo, a little butter, a griddled, split-top bun, and nothing else. And second, they understand the way these things ought to be priced. A classic lobster roll will run you all of $10.95.
