Yards Brewing Debuts a Rye IPA

yards-brewing-rye-ipaThis January Yards Brewing is launching a new seasonal beer. Yards Rye is is a boldly hopped amber-colored IPA that uses rye malt to give the beer a subtle spiciness.

The beer will be available through March on draft and in twelve-ounce bottles. Look for it where you typically find Yards beers.

It’s bittered with Bravo and Nugget hops before heading to the hop back packed with whole flower Chinook. Finally, we bomb it with Centennial, Citra, Simcoe, and Columbus, creating a pungent ale with intense notes of citrus and pine.

ABV 6.2% / IBU 55 / PLATO 15
FORMATS 12oz and draft
AVAILABILITY January through March
SIGNIFICANTINGREDIENTS Rye malt, whole flower Chinook
PAIRINGS Roasted meats, sausages, hearty winter dishes

I had a Yards Rye beer (can’t remember type) in the brewery last year and it was awesome. I hope this is similar.

This has been around in limited draft only quantities the last few years… no idea if the recipe has been tweaked or anything like that

Just had it on tap, as well as six pack. As you may guess, the bottled version is a little subdued, but still extremely impressive. This rye is sure to please everyone that enjoys the aggressive hoppiness followed by a pleasant and smooth sweetness
